FIND MORE CPU REVIEWS - "This review was about showing if there was a clear performance advantage for Quad Core over Dual Core Processors using a mixture of benchmarks from Synthetic to real Games. The reason we are mostly comparing the AMD Athlon II X4 645 to the AMD Athlon II X2 265 is because we wanted to know even if the Athlon II X2 is clocked 20% faster than the AMD Athlon II X4 645 would it offer anywhere near the same performance. The AMD Athlon II X4 645 finishes 41% faster than the AMD Athlon II X2 265 which is clocked 7% faster for an impressive early win for the AMD Athlon II X4 645. Synthetic Benchmarks have their place but I am under the impression that what my readers want is to show how Quad Core Performance with Games is compared to Dual Core. With real games the AMD Athlon II X4 645 finishes 21% faster than the AMD Athlon II X2 265. The AMD Athlon II X4 645 when compared to the AMD Athlon II X2 255 which is clocked at 3.1Ghz the AMD Athlon II X4 645 is 27% faster. Right now it would appear that Games software is not taking full advantage of Quad Core but in the future this will change so it's better to get a Quad Core Processor rather than a Dual Core Processor. The problem with Quad Core is the price which is sometimes over twice that of Dual Core processors for the same Clock Speed. Quad Core is for the future so it makes no sense to get a Dual Core Processor especially with the excellent AMD Phenom II Quad Core Processors which are much better than even the AMD Athlon II X4 645."
